Bronze Mannikin

The Bronze Mannikin, or Brachycope anomala, is a small finch native to sub-Saharan Africa. This species is known for its distinctive bronze-colored plumage and a black face mask. They are social birds often found in large flocks, particularly in grasslands, savannas, and agricultural areas. Bronze Mannikins are seed-eaters and are often seen foraging on the ground or in grassy areas. They build dome-shaped nests and are known for their rapid and agile flight. Despite their widespread distribution, their population trend is unknown, and they are currently classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN.
