Chalybura urochrysia (Gould, 1861)

Bronze-tailed Plumeleteer, Chalybura urochrysia, is a hummingbird of Middle America and north-western South America, breeding from Nicaragua to south-western Ecuador. It lives in humid forest interiors and edges, mature secondary growth, and semi-open places such as banana plantations and gardens, while avoiding open country. The species is marked by a bronze-green tail, and males of the nominate form have metallic green upperparts with glittering green underparts. Females are green above and grey below, with green flecking on the sides. Three subspecies are recognised, with different ranges across Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador.
