Brown-banded Rail, Lewinia mirifica, is a rail of montane Luzon in the Philippines, where it breeds in the Oriental Region. It is found on the island of Luzon and is linked with cloudforest, pine forest edges and undisturbed river swamp between 500 and 2,250 metres. The species is also known as the Luzon rail. Its life and breeding are not known, and it has been recorded mainly from migration observations at Dalton Pass. The most recent sighting was in 2012, and it has been hunted there.
