Brown-headed Jewel-babbler

Ptilorrhoa geislerorum (Meyer, AB, 1892)

Brown-headed Jewel-babbler, Ptilorrhoa geislerorum, is a passerine in the Cinclosomatidae family and breeds in Australasia, in the Adelbert Range and Huon Peninsula of north-eastern New Guinea, as well as on the northern slope of south-eastern New Guinea. It was described by Meyer, AB, in 1892. It is treated as a separate bird from the blue jewel-babbler. The two are divided by altitude, and they also differ in behaviour, calls and the plumage of the female.
