Cyanocorax morio (Wagler, 1829)

Brown Jay, Cyanocorax morio, is a jay of Middle America and also southern Texas, where it ranges from the lower Rio Grande Valley into Mexico and on through Central America. It is a member of the crow family and was once treated in a separate genus before being placed with Cyanocorax. Its plumage varies across its range, with northern birds mostly dark brown and southern birds showing a white belly and white outer tail tips. Adults have black bills, legs and feet, while young birds have yellow bare parts.
