Brown Noddy

Anous stolidus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Brown Noddy, Anous stolidus, is a seabird in the gull, tern and skimmer family that breeds on tropical and subtropical islands across all oceans. It is the largest of the noddies and can be separated from the black noddy by its larger build and dark brown plumage rather than black. It nests in colonies, usually on raised places on cliffs or in low trees or shrubs, and only sometimes on the ground. A single egg is laid in each breeding season.
