Brown Nunlet, Nonnula brunnea, is a bird of north-west Amazonia in South America, occurring in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It belongs to the puffbird family, Bucconidae, in the order Piciformes. In its range it is tied to humid lowland terra firme forest and thick secondary growth, and it usually stays beneath the canopy. It is a plain brown nunlet with a buffy rufous stripe from bill to eye, a narrow pale eye-ring, dark greyish brown cheeks, and dark rufous throat and flanks. The chin and breast are pale rufous, with a buffy rufous belly and dark bill, eye and feet.
