Brown Prinia, Prinia polychroa, is a passerine of the Cisticolidae family found in south-east Asia and on Java. It occurs across mainland Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, and also on the Indonesian island of Java. Its breeding range is in the Oriental Region. The species was described by Temminck in 1828. Two subspecies are recognised, with one confined to Java and the other present in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
