Brown-rumped Foliage-gleaner, Automolus melanopezus, is a passerine of the ovenbird family Furnariidae that breeds in western and south-western Amazonia in South America. It was described by Sclater, PL, 1858. Its range lies in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, with one population in the south-western Colombia, eastern Ecuador and northern Peru area, and another in south-eastern Peru, northern Bolivia and west-central Brazil. It lives in tropical evergreen forest, especially on floodplains and close to Guadua bamboo thickets. It is a year-round resident.
