Brown Songlark

Cincloramphus cruralis

The Brown Songlark (Cincloramphus cruralis) is a small, insectivorous bird found in Australia and New Guinea. It is known for its melodious song, which is often heard during the breeding season. The Brown Songlark has a distinctive brown plumage with streaks on the chest and a buff-colored belly. It is often found in open grasslands, agricultural fields, and shrublands, where it forages for insects on the ground. During the breeding season, the male performs elaborate song flights to attract a mate. The species is not currently considered to be at risk, but its grassland habitats are increasingly threatened by agricultural development.
