Brown-tailed Rock Chat, Oenanthe scotocerca, is a bird of dry savanna and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland in north-eastern and eastern Africa, including Chad, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda. It belongs to the family Muscicapidae. It was once placed in Cercomela, but later moved to Oenanthe after molecular studies showed that the earlier genus did not form a natural group. It feeds on insects.
