Brown Thornbill

Acanthiza pusilla

The Brown Thornbill (Acanthiza pusilla) is a small, insectivorous bird native to Australia. It is characterized by its brown upperparts, pale underparts, and distinctive white eyebrow stripe. This species is often found in eucalypt forests, woodlands, and heathlands, where it forages for insects and spiders in the foliage and on the ground. Brown Thornbills are highly active and agile, often seen flitting through the canopy in search of prey. They build dome-shaped nests with grass, bark, and spider webs, typically located in dense vegetation. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to their populations.
