Brown-throated Fulvetta
Alcippe brunneicauda
The Brown-throated Fulvetta, scientifically known as Alcippe brunneicauda, is a small passerine bird found in the eastern Himalayas and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its brown upperparts, white underparts, and a distinctive brown throat. These social birds are often found in mixed-species foraging flocks in dense undergrowth and bamboo thickets. They have a melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. The Brown-throated Fulvetta primarily feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging actively in the lower and middle levels of the forest. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation pose potential risks to their populations.
