Brown-throated Parakeet, Eupsittula pertinax, is a parrot of Middle America and northern South America, from Panama through the north of the continent. It belongs to the Psittacidae family and was first described by Linnaeus in 1758. It is found in a wide range of habitats, including savannas, scrub, mangroves, deciduous and evergreen forest, gallery woodland, and farmed land with scattered trees. The species is also known for its many subspecies, some of which are restricted to islands or local regions.
