Rhytipterna immunda
The Brown-winged Schiffornis is a medium-sized Neotropical bird found in the understory of humid forests from southern Mexico to western Ecuador. It is known for its distinctive song, consisting of a series of whistles and trills. This species primarily feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging in the dense vegetation of the forest understory. The Brown-winged Schiffornis is often observed singly or in pairs, and its cryptic plumage provides effective camouflage among the foliage. While not currently considered globally threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to its populations.
