Brownish Elaenia, Elaenia pelzelni, is a tyrant flycatcher of the Amazon River system in South America, where it occurs along the main river and its tributaries in Peru and Brazil, with records also from Bolivia and possible presence in Colombia. It was described by Berlepsch in 1907. This is a monotypic species. It is tied mainly to river islands with Cecropia-dominated forest, and also uses nearby second growth and river edges. Its range is low-lying, from sea level to about 200 m.
