Brush Cuckoo

Cacomantis sepulcralis

The Brush Cuckoo (Cacomantis sepulcralis) is a medium-sized cuckoo found in Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. It has a distinctive call, which is often heard in the dense understorey of rainforests and woodlands. This species is known for its brood parasitism, laying its eggs in the nests of other bird species. The Brush Cuckoo has a sleek, olive-brown plumage with a barred tail and a distinctive white patch on the nape. It feeds on insects and caterpillars and is often seen foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy.
