Buff-bellied Puffbird, Notharchus swainsoni, lives in south-east Brazil, north-east Paraguay and north-east Argentina. It is a member of the Bucconidae family and is resident in Argentina. It inhabits lowland humid forest, both primary and secondary. Its crown and upperparts are black with a green sheen and buff-edged feathers, and it shows a narrow white forehead, throat and upper breast. A broad black band divides the breast from the buff to pale rufous belly, with grey flanks.
