Buff-breasted Earthcreeper, Upucerthia validirostris, is a passerine of the Furnariidae that breeds in South America from central Peru to north-west Argentina. It lives in puna grassland and dry montane scrub, especially in rocky slopes, shrubby hillsides and ravines with dense cover, and avoids flat ground. It is a medium-sized earthcreeper with a long, strongly curved bill. The sexes look the same. The species is resident all year. It nests in a burrow or rock crevice, with a grass-lined chamber, and lays two eggs.
