Buff-faced Pygmy Parrot, Micropsitta pusio, is a bird of northern and south-eastern New Guinea and the eastern Bismarck Archipelago, where it lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. It is a very small parrot and is mainly green, with buff on the cheeks, face and crown, plus a dark blue area on the top of the head. The underparts are yellowish, and the sexes look alike, though females show less marked head patterning and a paler face. Young birds lack the blue crown.
