Aethomyias perspicillatus (Salvadori, 1896)

Buff-faced Scrubwren Aethomyias perspicillatus is a passerine in the Australasian warbler family, found in montane western to south-eastern New Guinea. It lives in subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. The species was first described by Salvadori in 1896. It was once included in Sericornis, but a 2018 molecular study of scrubwrens led to its transfer to Aethomyias, a genus later brought back into use.
