Buff-tailed Coronet, Boissonneaua flavescens, is a hummingbird of the Andes in South America, breeding from Venezuela to Ecuador. It lives in humid to wet montane forest, cloudforest and elfin forest, and also uses more open shrubby areas. The species is sedentary. It has a short, straight black bill and a small white mark behind the eye. Males are mostly shining green, with a buff belly marked by green spots, while the tail shows bronzy and buff tones with bronze edging. Both sexes have small white tufts on the legs.
