Buff-throated Woodcreeper

Xiphorhynchus obsoletus

The Buff-throated Woodcreeper is a medium-sized bird found in the forests of Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive buff-colored throat and streaked brown plumage. This woodcreeper is often observed climbing tree trunks and branches in search of insects and small invertebrates. Its strong, pointed bill and powerful legs enable it to forage adeptly in its woodland habitat. The Buff-throated Woodcreeper is a vocal species, with a series of clear, whistled notes forming its song. While not currently considered threatened, deforestation and habitat loss are potential future concerns for this species.
