Buffy Hummingbird, Leucippus fallax, is a hummingbird of the family Trochilidae found in north-eastern Colombia and northern Venezuela. It inhabits dry forest, scrub and other arid shrubland, and is also recorded from mangrove areas. The bird is the only member of Leucippus. It has a slender, straight bill, a white mark behind the eye, and a tail with a grey band across it and a rounded tip. Males and females look alike, though females are less vivid, and individuals vary in shade.
