Bullock's Oriole

Icterus bullockii (Swainson, 1827)

Bullock's Oriole, Icterus bullockii, is a bird of western North America, with breeding birds reaching from the eastern foothills of the Cascade Range east to the Dakotas, Kansas and northern Central Texas, and from British Columbia south to Sonora and Durango. In winter it moves to Mexico and northern Central America, with its winter range running from Sinaloa to Oaxaca. It is most often found along habitat edges, especially in riparian corridors, open deciduous woodland and scrub forest. A key feature is the adult male’s yellow-orange and black plumage, with a black throat patch and a white wing patch.
