Burchell's Starling

Burchell's Starling (Lamprotornis australis) is a medium-sized, strikingly colorful bird found in southern Africa. It is known for its glossy plumage, which varies from iridescent purples and blues to metallic greens and bronzes. These starlings are highly social and often form large flocks, creating a spectacle as they wheel and dart through the sky. They are adaptable and can be found in a variety of habitats, including woodlands, savannas, and suburban areas. Burchell's Starlings are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. Their conservation status is currently Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
