Acridotheres burmannicus (Jerdon, 1862)
Burmese Myna, Acridotheres burmannicus, is a starling of the Oriental Region, breeding in Myanmar and south-western China. It belongs to the family Sturnidae and was described by Jerdon in 1862. It is one of the split species formerly treated together with the vinous-breasted myna. After that separation, the common names of both birds were adjusted to use myna rather than starling, in line with the genus.
