Caatinga Cacholote, Pseudoseisura cristata, is a passerine of the Furnariidae family found in eastern Brazil. It breeds in the Caatinga region and in tropical deciduous forest, and is also regular around buildings where people are not densely settled. It is a resident bird across its range. The species is a large, crested furnariid with a long bill, and the sexes look alike. Adults are mainly bright reddish-rufous, with paler underparts, yellow irises, and flight feathers tipped dark. Juveniles show a shorter crest, some dusky markings on the face and underparts, and a bluish grey iris.
