Cachar Bulbul

Iole cacharensis

The Cachar Bulbul (Iole cacharensis) is a small songbird found in the forests and wooded areas of northeastern India and adjacent parts of Bangladesh. It has a distinctive olive-brown plumage with a pale belly and a black mask around its eyes. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard in the early morning and late afternoon. Cachar Bulbuls primarily feed on insects and small fruits, foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. They are known for their agile and acrobatic flight patterns. Despite being relatively common within its range, habitat loss and fragmentation pose threats to its long-term survival.
