Calabarzon Babbler

Calabarzon Babbler, Sterrhoptilus affinis, is a passerine of the white-eye family that breeds in central and southern Luzon in the northern Philippines. It was first described in 1907 by McGregor. Although its name points to Calabarzon, its range also reaches Central Luzon, the Bicol Peninsula and Catanduanes. It is a Philippine endemic and is found in lowland tropical moist forest, as well as foothill forest, second growth and forest edge. It was once treated as part of the black-crowned babbler, and it is now recognised as distinct from the Visayan babbler.
