Chenorhamphus campbelli
Campbell's Wren-babbler (Chenorhamphus campbelli) is a small, elusive bird found in the montane forests of New Guinea. This species is known for its distinctive song, which consists of a series of melodious whistles and trills. The plumage of the Campbell's Wren-babbler is predominantly olive-brown with subtle streaking on the underparts. It has a relatively short tail and a slightly curved bill, adapted for foraging in the dense undergrowth of its forest habitat. These birds are often observed hopping and flitting among the tangled vegetation in search of insects and small invertebrates. Despite its striking appearance and unique vocalizations, the Campbell's Wren-babbler remains poorly studied and is considered a cryptic and elusive species.
