The Campbell Shag, also known as the Campbell Island Shag, is a species of cormorant endemic to New Zealand. It is a medium-sized seabird with a distinctive blue-green iridescent sheen on its plumage. These birds are primarily found on the rocky coasts and cliffs of the subantarctic Campbell Island, where they nest in colonies. They are skilled divers and feed on a variety of fish and marine invertebrates. The Campbell Shag is known for its strong territorial behavior during the breeding season, often engaging in elaborate courtship displays. While the population size is relatively small, the species is currently considered to be of Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
