Emberiza lathami

The Cape Longclaw (Emberiza lathami) is a species of bird found in southern Africa. It is characterized by its distinctive bright yellow throat and breast, as well as a long, black-tipped tail. The upperparts are streaked brown, and the bill is long and slender. Cape Longclaws are often found in grassland and savanna habitats, where they forage for insects and seeds on the ground. They are known for their melodious and far-carrying song, often delivered from a prominent perch. This species is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is believed to be stable.
