Gyps coprotheres (Forster, JR, 1798)

Cape Vulture, Gyps coprotheres, is a bird of southern Africa, breeding from Namibia through Zimbabwe and Mozambique to South Africa. It is a member of the Accipitridae and is an Old World vulture. The species nests on cliffs, usually on faces in or near mountains, and lays a single egg each year. It is mainly found in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana and parts of northern Namibia, with further records from Angola, Zimbabwe and Eswatini. It is a large vulture with a creamy-buff body, darker flight and tail feathers, and a near-bare head and neck.
