Leiothrichidae — Laughingthrushes & Allies

Capuchin Babbler, Turdoides atripennis, is a passerine in the laughingthrush family, found in western and central Africa. It occurs across separate parts of the African tropical rainforest, and its habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. The species was described by Swainson in 1837. It was formerly placed in the single-species genus Phyllanthus, but a molecular study published in 2018 led to its transfer to Turdoides.
