Caribbean Martin, Progne dominicensis, is a swallow of the Caribbean islands, where it breeds, and it is thought to move on to South America outside the breeding season. It is a large martin with a forked tail and broad wings. Adults show a glossy blue-black male plumage with white below, while females and young are less striking, with grey-brown on the breast and flanks and white lower underparts. It nests in cavities in banks, buildings and old woodpecker holes, and is a gregarious bird that feeds on insects in flight.
