Carnaby's Black Cockatoo, Zanda latirostris, is a cockatoo of southwest Australia in the family Cacatuidae. It was described by Carnaby in 1948. A feature that sets it apart is its short crest, along with white cheek patches and a white band across the tail. The plumage is mainly greyish black, and the feathers on the body have pale edges that give a scalloped look. Adult males and females differ in bill and eye-ring colour, with the female also showing paler ear patches.
