Conuropsis carolinensis
The Carolina Parakeet, also known as the Carolina Conure, was a colorful and social bird native to the southeastern United States. With a vibrant green body, yellow head, and orange face, it was a striking sight in its natural habitat. These parakeets formed large flocks and were known for their loud, raucous calls. They primarily inhabited forested areas, including swamps, woodlands, and river valleys. Unfortunately, due to habitat destruction and hunting, the Carolina Parakeet became extinct in the early 20th century, marking the loss of a unique and charismatic bird species.
