Cassin's Kingbird, Tyrannus vociferans, breeds from the southern USA through Middle America to Belize. It is a passerine in the tyrant flycatcher family and was described by Swainson in 1826. The bird is associated with rangelands and savannas, and its range includes California, the eastern Rocky Mountains from Montana to Utah, and parts of Mexico. It is a large tyrant flycatcher, and one of its clearest field marks is a dark tail with a pale edge at the tip of the feathers.
