The Cave Swallow (Petrochelidon fulva) is a small, migratory bird found in the Americas. It is known for its distinctive steel-blue upperparts, cinnamon-buff underparts, and a buffy forehead and throat. These agile birds are often seen darting through the air, catching insects on the wing. Cave Swallows typically nest in caves, cliffs, and man-made structures, using mud to construct their cup-shaped nests. Their diet consists mainly of flying insects. These birds are highly social and often form large flocks during migration. The Cave Swallow is a delightful sight to birdwatchers, especially during its acrobatic flight displays.
