Ceara Gnateater, Conopophaga cearae, is a passerine of the gnateater family that lives in north-east Brazil. It was described by Cory in 1916. Its breeding range is in south America, in ne Brazil. The bird is tied to dense forest undergrowth and bushy cover, especially in isolated Atlantic Forest patches at higher elevations. It is also known locally as chupa-dente, a Portuguese name linked to the sound it makes when it calls.
