Chapman's Swift, Chaetura chapmani, is a swift of Middle America and South America, breeding from Panama to north-eastern Brazil and western Amazonia. It was described by Hellmayr in 1907 and belongs to the family Apodidae. It is a tropical lowland bird of evergreen forest, secondary forest and secondary scrub, and has also been noted over coastal swamps and mangroves. The species has a short square tail, a head that projects forward, and wings that broaden in the middle and curve slightly at the tip. The sexes look the same.
