Chatham Islands Parakeet, Cyanoramphus forbesi, is a parakeet of the Chatham Islands in New Zealand, breeding on Mangere and Little Mangere. It was described by Rothschild in 1893. It is one of the country’s rarest birds and is confined to two small islands. The species is found in dense forest and scrub, and uses tree hollows and rock crevices for nesting. It has a golden-yellow forecrown, which separates it from the Chatham Island Red-crowned Parakeet. It is also distinct from the Yellow-crowned Parakeet, which does not occur in the Chatham Islands.
