Chestnut Antpitta

Grallaria alleni

The Chestnut Antpitta is a small, terrestrial bird found in the Andes of South America. It is known for its distinctive chestnut plumage and its habit of skulking on the forest floor. This species is primarily insectivorous, foraging for invertebrates and small arthropods in the leaf litter. Its shy and elusive nature makes it a challenging bird to observe in the wild. The Chestnut Antpitta's unique vocalizations are often used to locate individuals within its dense forest habitat.
