Pterorhinus nuchalis (Godwin-Austen, 1876)
Chestnut-backed Laughingthrush, Pterorhinus nuchalis, is a bird of north-east India and northern Myanmar in the Leiothrichidae family. It lives in secondary growth, thickets, tall grassland with scattered shrubs, dense bush and stony ravines and hills, from lowland areas to about 900 metres. It was described by Godwin-Austen in 1876. The species was formerly placed in Garrulax, but in 2018 it was transferred to Pterorhinus after a molecular study.
