Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch, Sitta cinnamoventris, is a nuthatch of the Oriental Region, breeding from northern Pakistan through northern south-east Asia. It occurs in India, Tibet, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, and is resident from the Murree Hills and the Uttaranchal foothills to the Assam Valley, Arunachal Pradesh and the Lushai Hills. It lives in subtropical and tropical forests, including dry and moist woodland, as well as montane and lowland forest. It is close to the Burmese Nuthatch, but has a heavier bill, matching crown and mantle, and distinctive wing and tail patterning.
