Chestnut-bellied Seed Finch, Sporophila angolensis, is a bird of the Thraupidae family that breeds in north and east Amazonia in South America. It was first described by Linnaeus in 1766. Its range is tied to shrubby and grassy country in tropical and subtropical parts of the continent. The species has two recognised subspecies, with one in Trinidad, Tobago, Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas and north-west Amazonia, and the other from north Bolivia to east Brazil, Paraguay and north-east Argentina.
