Chestnut-capped Laughingthrush, Pterorhinus mitratus, is a bird of the montane Malay Peninsula and Sumatra in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. It is also known as the spectacled laughingthrush. Its natural home includes subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It was once placed in Garrulax, but after a molecular study in 2018 it was transferred to Pterorhinus. The chestnut-hooded laughingthrush was formerly treated as a subspecies.
