Chestnut-faced Treepie

Dendrocitta frontalis

The Chestnut-faced Treepie, scientifically known as Dendrocitta frontalis, is a medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of the eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive chestnut face and greyish plumage, with a long tail and strong, hooked bill. These highly social birds are often seen in small groups, foraging for insects, fruits, and seeds in the forest canopy. Their vocalizations are varied and include a range of calls and whistles. The Chestnut-faced Treepie plays an important role in forest ecosystems by dispersing seeds and controlling insect populations.
