Chestnut-naped Antpitta

The Chestnut-naped Antpitta is a small, terrestrial bird found in the Andes of South America. It is known for its distinctive chestnut-colored nape and throat, as well as its olive-brown upperparts and buffy underparts. This species is typically found in dense, humid montane forests, where it forages on the forest floor for insects and invertebrates. It is a shy and elusive bird, often heard more than seen due to its habit of skulking in the undergrowth. The Chestnut-naped Antpitta is considered to be of Least Concern by the IUCN, as it has a relatively wide distribution and its population is believed to be stable.
